I am a trainee teacher in England, involved in research on using puppets to teach primary children in the classroom....specifically science. I am currently writing a dissertation and I would welcome any information from your years of experience that you could share with me. I have collated data from my research which seems to echo the responses to teaching with puppets on your website.... Boys respond well; brilliant for children with special educational needs; grabs and sustains attention; great for controlling behaviour problems; allows all children to feel they have connected and they do not feel inhibited by saying 'they do not understand' to a puppet. I have found a great lack in any academic writing on the use of puppets to teach in the classroom other than for social awareness. Here lies my problem as without academic backup or information from yourself it is very difficult for me to justify my data.
