Dear Members,

Very often puppet interviews like this involve interview subjects long gone. Happily, the Ivory-billed Woodpecker is still with us.

Please note that the image of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker shown on the Interview page would be easy to adapt for use with the bird body pattern in the site library. Attach the woodpecker head which you construct) to the body and, presto, you've got a flying friend.

Also adaptable, especially for young children, would be the interview content to include such info as Ivory-bill's friends and favorite foods.

So I invite you to make an ivory-billed woodpecker puppet for use with young and older students alike. For young children, the interview could be done with two adults or an older student; older students could easily do this ?conservation conversation? before a class of younger children. I really do think this heroic creature needs a voice that can advocate his plight in this oft-careless and shifting world we are in danger of making worse.

Please offer comments or feedback. Please share this with friends and colleagues.

Jeff

PS As always, let me know how it goes Very Happy
